Dragon Quest 8
Good write up on Dragon Quest 8HeHe I love Dragon Quest 8 I think its such a nice mix between a Zelda type game and a Final Fantasy type game. Developed by Square what else do you expect. Well this isn’t my review yet… it will be soon but instead the plot and story line of what I have accomplished thus far. Its pretty interesting… I know I keep tyler informed but for anyone else who cares I shall run you through the story of Virtuoso and his quest with the King.

Path Of Neo
Path of Neo starts off with a unique test of your skills through a lobby dream sequence. Depending on how well you do, you are offered a choice of difficulty levels (easy or normal for me) to suit your immediate level of gaming prowess. Then things start off from the phone in the Fed-Ex bag and just keep going. This includes a challenging but enjoyable tour of what happened during all those hours of eye flickering kung fu training, culminating in your fight with Morpheus. This is just one of the examples of the extension to the movies that goes on in this game. A worthy addition because I guess that if you actually put all the Neo fighting scenes together from the flicks, the game would be about 20 minutes.

Next-gen Konzol Háború
A little console comparison for our Hungarian friends.
Vetélytársként 2006 tavaszán jönnek a japánok.

Getting A Nintendo DS
Hmmm, is NintendoAll of these (a DS, too) add up to about $270 (ouch!) If I were to get an Xbox 360 it would add on another $400 (full version) for $670. Who knows how much a Nintendo Revolution or the Nintendo Wi-Fi adapter costs, so it will be even higher than that!

XBox 360 Vs. PS3
Price is just one component of the market battle between Xbox 360Analysts at Merrill Lynch seem to think as of the moment that the MS XBox 360 will win the console wars over Sony’s highly anticipated PlayStation 3 because they say that the PS3 will be significantly expensive at launch in 2006 while the XBox might reach less than half of what they’re selling by then. I think it’s to soon so say this. I say we wait and see what Sony can cook up in 2006. Like they say, “It ain’t over ’till it’s over.

Copyright And Profit
Good analysis of market for music you hear in games.
While reading examples from the article I remembered another trend that has been growing lately. Many PC games have music files that can be easily extracted from the game CD. Many of them are already in an easily readable format such Mp3 or WAV, and creating Audio CDs from these is not that difficult. Then there are other games that include music files that can only be read by the game itself. But after doing a little searching through the game’s fan sites, it’s usually possible to find a program that will convert the files to more popular formats. But more and more, I’ve been noticing game companies that are making this process more and more difficult. Not only are there no readable files but all the game files are usually archived in some obscure file format.

The XBox 360 Room
On a recent tour ...
Read the entire article. On to the XBox room. There was an XBox 360 available for playing, with some unrecognizable game that looked like fun, but there was always a massive line-up so I didn’t bother. The highlight of the XBox room was a racing game coupled with a completely ostentatious driving chair. Watching Leilani try to play it was a spectacle in itself. The Scooby-Doo game was a lot of fun, and there was a perplexing “urban” game where it seemed that the objective was to spraypaint the entire city. I really couldn’t tell what to do with it so I ignored it. (Arcadia was really bad at letting you know which game you were playing, and pause screens and title menus are extremely uninformative). There were a few King Kong systems set up as well as a 4-player Halo LAN, which looked cool.

Help A Brotha Out
Some reasons to consider a PSP instead of an iPod.
Really this thing is a handheld media center, if you wanna watch video, listen to SOME music and maybe play a game or two in your free time, I’d highy advice you just spend your money one . There is such a deep community to hack these things, you can basically put anything you want onto one, and go about your business. From emulators, to TV eps, to dvds you’ve obtained in your own manner, lol, at the moment there is no real limit, and to add to it you also have wifi access built in. So unless your just interested in music, such as myself, you’d be a goddamn fool to waste your money. Now that I’m done ranting, if you’re in the giving mood, you can make a donation via paypal to the “Stop eric from having to sell his kidney to buy and ipod fund”. Help a brotha out lol

Bad Habit Broken?
Bryan beats FableThroughout my life I have had a goodly amount of games. From NES to Xbox, Mario to Master Chief–I’ve enjoyed them all. Right now I am riding high with a stack of Xbox games. Not all of them are critically acclaimed games, and I do not have all of the sleeper hits or cult classics. However, there is not a second of playtime that I haven’t loved.

Annoying Copy Protection
I think you'll be seeing more and more anti-piracy efforts.
If you've installed many PC games recently on thing you're likely to come across is Starforce protection or something similar. Publishers are really Jonesing for this kind of anti-piracy control these days. So when you install a game you have to reboot and then allow some piece of spyware to monitor that you're playing a legit version of the game.

Why Massively Multiplayer Games Suck
Click through for more on massively multiplayer games.
So, why do I keep participating in online gaming? Pretty much for the same reason I’ve always enjoyed multiplayer video games that weren’t on the internet. With the right group of friends, it’s an extremely rewarding experience. Since my friends and I are now scattered a bit farther than we’ve been in the past, internet gaming provides the best venue for us to get together and have some fun.

Backing Up
The worst part would be the SNES ROM collection, for sure.
Repeat after me: MY DRIVE WILL CRASH TOMORROW. Think about that for a second: what would be running through your head if tomorrow you went to use your computer, only to find out your drive bit the big one? There go all your emails, your thesis work, your photos of your girlfriend, your SNES ROM collection, your accounting records. Gone. Could you think up curses in enough languages?
