Games! Games! Games!

I’ve recently rediscovered backgammon. It’s a game I’ve played for years and I always considered myself quite good. Then I downloaded backgammon software called JellyFish for my Windows computer. It plays tough - it is very humbling.

However, unless you shelled out $600+ dollars for an Xbox 360, you have not had the opportunity to play Geometry Wars… until now. An excellent Geometry Wars clone was released in August, called Grid Wars 2. The creator had to take the project down off his site because he was served with a Cease & Desist (clearly the clone is a very accurate copy of the original). But, Grid Wars 2 is still available for download from a third-party review site.

What the hell is up with Sony lately and their extremely weird Playstation 3 commercials? Yeah, I know it probably attracts attention and is a good marketing scheme to stick in people’s heads but this new one is messed up. I don’t get it at all. How do these type of commercials show off the PS3 or want a consumer to play it at all? Anyway, it pretty much just focuses on a little baby who stares at the PS3 for a while. All of a sudden he starts laughing and speaking in Exorcist-type tongues and then cries. Reminds me of Saw III for some reason, which I saw yesterday night. Go out and see the movie if you haven’t, it’s amazing!

I’m impressed. It took me a little while to get the lighting right (what can I say, I’m a vampire), but when I did, the digimask came out pretty good. In World Series Of Poker for the XBox 360, it allows you to take a digital photo of your front and side profiles to create a “Digimask”. You can then take your character online to play with thousands (maybe millions?) of other poker players.

Today, Xbox.com came back online, and with it comes exclusive 5WG content. I’ve been writing for Xbox.com for over three years now, and after more than 100 articles published there, I’m delighted to be able to continue doing so while representing 5WG for the first time.

I understand, this is a 360 blog with more Wii news by day. After reading ign’s comments on a PS3 they had in their office recently in the UK I was a bit worried the 360 was gonna lose the war until I read on and read how SIXAXIS, the PS3’s controller still is not good.

Totem Ball, the freely downloadable Xbox Live Arcade game, uses the Xbox Live Vision (read: camera) to capture your body’s movements as the game’s controls.

Na verdade, é um brinquedo velho. Meu PS2 (Playstation 2) estava parado fazia um bom tempo. Desde quando comecei a jogar WoW. Acabei notando que jogando apenas um jogo eu estava perdendo outros que eu gosto. Acabei por descobrir que já tinham saído (e eu não tinha jogado): Suikoden IV, Suikoden V, Onimusha 4, DOIS Prince of Persia… Pois bem. Desde a compra da minha nova maquina, tinha um HD de 80G sobrando por aqui. Coloquei ele denovo no meu PS2, dei uma passada na Feira dos Importados pra conseguir uns jogos e fiquei maravilhado.
