Path Of Neo
Path of Neo starts off with a unique test of your skills through a lobby dream sequence. Depending on how well you do, you are offered a choice of difficulty levels (easy or normal for me) to suit your immediate level of gaming prowess. Then things start off from the phone in the Fed-Ex bag and just keep going. This includes a challenging but enjoyable tour of what happened during all those hours of eye flickering kung fu training, culminating in your fight with Morpheus. This is just one of the examples of the extension to the movies that goes on in this game. A worthy addition because I guess that if you actually put all the Neo fighting scenes together from the flicks, the game would be about 20 minutes.

The Hard Fight
Click through for more good analysis on why Sony has won, even with sometimes inferior products.
The shift in the trend started right around the same time the Sony PlayStation arrived on the market, which was revolutionary, to be sure. Even with the likes of the Nintendo64 to compete with, the PS1 managed to land a huge install base and it built an army of loyal fans. I wasn’t sure how they did it at first; their hardware was inferior, and the load times for most of the games were horrendous. To me, it only seemed logical that a system with no load time and far better graphics would be preferable, and indeed many felt the same way. The problem, however, was that Sony managed to get ahold of a huge number of great games for its system, and the long list of the PS1’s greatest games far exceeds that of the N64’s handful of shining stars. Part of Nintendo’s problem has always been their reliance on trying to revamp old franchises and a reluctance to allow completely third party games onto their systems.

Suncoast To Carry Sony Games
Here's something you don't see every day.
Strangely, the stores will only carry Sony Playstation 2 items—none of the other consoles. Most Suncoast stores also stock PSP UMD movies, as well. “We’re not going to carry that Xbox stuff,” said one store manager.

Game Evolution
Good description of game play evolution.
fully half of the book is an apologetic for video games. i must admit i checked out of the video game world just as it got good, according to him. i really dug the linear-ness of super mario and super ultra mario or whatever came next. although i was the reigning queen of mario-cart in my day (more 3D than the others), my expertise (and interest) stopped when you had to start wandering around in a 360 world with no clear-cut goal, relying on trial and error and the benevolence of strangers to give you tips. it’s now those incredibly complicated, simulated worlds that challenge greater realms of problem solving and cognitive abilities. i certainly believe it. it won’t make me go out and buy a sony playstation (old-dog syndrome), but i’ll concede that the overall effect is a net positive.

PlayStaytion Now Part Of California School Curriculum
How cool is this?
Dude, every kid’s dream day has just arrived: the Redlands, Calif., school district is in the process of designing an “exertainment center” to combat growing levels of obesity by using workout games like Dance Dance Revolution and EyeToy: Play as part of the physical education curriculum. They’re working with local health care facilities to design the center and raise money to install Sony PlayStation units in at least one of the district’s elementary schools, incorporating five to seven different stations to handle classes of 35 students as they game their way into better fitness. We can’t even tell you how gypped we feel right now about all those youthful hours we endured playing capture the flag.

Nursing
There are actually some very expensive medical simulators that are like flight simulators for doctors. It's be great as a PlayStation game.
After watching Shane play 752 hours of NCAA football,I started to get jealous. I've decided that I will be calling the powers at sony playstation and asking for a video game about nursing. Yes! Just imagine... You are an ED nurse, and a woman comes in (list of symptoms here). What do you do? SHE CODES!! (picture of death). You run the code. You score points for doing procedures correctly and saving lives. While playing, you also encounter drunks, rude family members, and crazies who want to kill you... but you calm those situations. You lose when...

Multimedia Economics
This is a very good point about the economics of multimedia:
Game boxes like the Xbox and Sony PlayStation exist only because the hardware cost of upgrading a PC to the same media level would be prohibitive.

Sony to Launch PlayStation 3 in Spring 2006
Even in Dutch, it seems like the Playstation 3 beats the Xbox 360.
Maybe if Microsoft renames it the Xbox 180, it won't seem so bad.WOW..... Ik moet zeggen dat het design van de Sony Playstation 3 beter is als de Xbox 360.

Microsoft To Challenge PlayStation 3 Launch With Halo 3
I agree with this blogger ... Halo 2What is interesting is the fact that Bill Gates thinks that Halo would affect the sales of the Sony’s gaming platform. It is quite a long shot to assume that gamers would ignore the highly anticipated Sony PlayStation 3 just because Halo 3 would be available for only Xbox platform. Halo has been extremely profitable venture for Microsoft but compared to PlayStation 3, it would be just a piece of software and die-hard Sony fans would probably ignore the lure from the software giant.

Sony PSP Billboard Demo Runs on Windows
Good catch on the windows error message!
Click thorugh to original post. This picture from Robert Spychala at www.tastesgood.org shows a Sony Playstation Portable billboard with an large screen that I assume, demonstrates some functions of the PSP or rotates images on the screen. But, you see a Windows error message on screen indicating that this is probably just a PCanywhere setup or something. Anyhow, it's a tad comical, but maybe I find it funnier than you.

J Allard and Xbox 360
Microsoft mania for market dominance:
Click through for choice quote.I know this is my second Xbox-related post in as many days, but I want to share with you an article in Wired titled “The Xbox Reloaded”. There’s nothing technical about the article, it rather feels like a short biography of the father of the Xbox- J Allard. Choice quote from the article:

Fallen to the Dark Side
While I was stationed at Tinker Air Foce Base, back in the Civil War, I bought a Sony Playstation from Sears. $425! It had just come out and my traumatic Nintendo-less childhood caught up to me. I think it came with Ridge Racer. Very cool game with awesome graphics and a great soundtrack. I spent many a hours bothering my neighbors with that soundtrack.
